AirSeed is a fast-growing environmental restoration company that has developed specialised planting drones equipped with machine learning capabilities, and proprietary seed pod biotechnology to rapidly replant large areas of land to accelerate global-scale reforestation. Our mission is to plant 100 million pods a year by 2024 and restore lost biodiversity across Australia and the world.

AirSeed’s headquarters is located in Sydney, Australia with a secondary satellite office in Cape Town, South Africa.

AirSeed is currently actively involved with projects across Australia and South Africa and is looking towards expanding into other countries in the future.

AirSeed plants more than just trees! We plant a biodiverse mix of species native to the area that we’re restoring. This can include trees, shrubs, grasses, vines, or other plants that are important for the ecosystem. Our policy is to put the right plant in the right place!

Biodiversity is the variety of all living things on earth. This includes the variety of animals, plants, fungi and microorganisms that make up our natural world. Biodiversity is the foundation to the health of our planet, as each species is intertwined with many others in the complex system that supports life on earth, and enables us to breathe clean air, drink clean water, grow food and generally thrive. Restoring lost biodiversity is critical as not only will it provide habitat for plants and animals, but it will also restore soil health, air and water quality, and therefore have direct and indirect impacts on human health.

An AirSeed drone can plant up to 40,000 seed pods a day, and can access remote, hazardous and inaccessible areas. Each drone can carry up to 16 different species in a single flight, and every seed pod is GPS tracked to allow for in-depth monitoring to help ensure the long-term success of every project.

Our seed pods are a proprietary blend of various soils, nutrients and microbial amendments. Seed pods are designed to be both soil and species specific and are customised for each project.

Each month you will support the planting of seed pods across AirSeed projects. As a member, you’ll have access to an online dashboard that showcases how many pods you’ve planted, the total area you’ve helped restore, the estimated CO₂ your seed pods will remove from the atmosphere, and the number of species you’ve planted. You’ll also learn about the projects you’re supporting, and receive regular and ongoing updates with photos and videos to showcase the positive impact you’re making!

Yes – you can update your membership at anytime and choose a subscription plan that works best for you! Simply log into your account to update your preferences and the change will be reflected on your next month’s planting.

Yes – you can pause your membership at any time. While your account is paused, although you won’t be planting new seed pods, your existing plants will continue to mature, and you will still have access to your member dashboard to watch your impact grow.

Absolutely! We partner with amazing organisations who are looking to support Australian restoration projects and strengthen their ESG goals. There are a variety of AirSeed memberships available to businesses. When you’ve logged into your member dashboard, you’ll get insights into metrics such as how many pods you’ve planted, the total area you’ve helped restore, the estimated CO₂ your seed pods will remove from the atmosphere, and the number of species you’ve planted! You’ll also learn about every project you support and receive regular and ongoing updates with photos and videos to demonstrate the impact you’re having.

No – the seed pods you’re supporting are many years away from their full carbon sequestration potential. Plants continue to sequester carbon throughout their life as they grow and photosynthesise. The seed pods we plant today will have a positive impact on the planet for decades to come!

Trees and plants naturally sequester carbon, and are one of the best methods of carbon sequestration we have. When trees photosynthesise, they combine carbon dioxide and water to make energy for their growth, releasing oxygen and storing carbon in their cells in the process. Trees capture and store different amounts of carbon at different speeds depending on their age and species. Using an estimate based on Australian-based restoration projects across a range of climates and vegetation types, the average tree will sequester 10kg of CO₂/year – that’s over 200kg of CO₂ over a 20 year period!

AirSeed members can pause their membership at any time. Although no new seed pods are planted when a membership is paused, access to the dashboard remains active, allowing members the opportunity to get started again when the time is right.

AirSeed works with landholders across the country. To protect their privacy, we don’t disclose the exact location of our planting sites. However, on your member dashboard, we provide the general region of each planting project, along with continuous updates to showcase the incredible impact you’re having on the land.

AirSeed makes every effort to ensure all our projects have a long-term permanence period. This means that the projects you support may be protected for up to 100 years!

AirSeed cannot guarantee that all seed pods will survive to become mature plants, as certain factors beyond our control can impact the viability of the pods. This includes extreme weather events such as drought or flooding, animal grazing, and bushfires. However, we take all reasonable steps to ensure the success and survival of every seed pod planted.

There’s no limit to how many people you can refer, and as a thank you for your support, you and your referral will both be rewarded with bonus seed pods!
